Guess I should measure for furniture too. (:

I’m going to start digging holes for the post. I have one problem area that will determine whether I need to expand or not.

One title at a time. At least I have a good system for it.

I’m going to have to start making some adjustments. Then do something about little dirty dog feet. http://moby.to/cv67jc

As long as the root is protected they’ll have a fighting chance. (: http://moby.to/wyq2ek

New Plants…

This is fun… Hanging outside in the garden helping Kyle with his hw while working on sg2zg…

Amazing what kind of cool plants you can find at your local farmer’s market. Over the weekend I went on a little family outting to the Maitland Farmer’s Market and picked up two really cool plants.

1. Ornamental peppers, full sun, peppers turn red close to Xmas. Now that’s some fun stuff.

2. Bad hair day – wild grass for boggs. Perfect use for a pot without holes.

So far both doing really well and adjusting to their new enviroment.

Coming home to my garden…

Posted by SG2ZG . Filed under reflection, waterings | No Comments

Watered my garden today… Was looking kind of sad but then realized it will be okay. Waterings are fun. My snapdragons are perking up ready to bite… I really like them a lot. The pretty little pansies are super colorful. Great fall time flower. Will post pics soon…

This has been a highly inspirational last few days… That’s all I have to say. It’s fun to learn… Opens whole new worlds of oppertunity.. You just have to want it. (:

Mulched in.. Preparing for winter

Posted by SG2ZG . Filed under flowers, garden activities, gardening, reflection | No Comments

Filled the bed in and planted some snapdragons! Preformed a transplant… Delicate procedure where one removes a plant and places it in another location hoping it will survive.. If not, it’s out and another will take it’s place. Ahhh how I love to garden!

Ps. The city of sin gave my some peace & zen… Thank u! (:

Persian Sheilds

My Persian Shields are doing well. They are one of my favorite plants. Soon I’ll be able to update the annual portion of the bed. That’s one of my favorite gardening activities. Just being able to pull out a plant that I don’t want gives me a huge sense of control. (: plus I love the workout involved!

Arundina graminifolia Bamboo

Arundina graminifolia Bamboo, originally uploaded by kelley5fm.

Went to The Home Depot tonight. Little family outing. I opted for the Garden Center as soon as we got there. As I was walking around and in total awe over the plants that they carry I came across this Arundina bamboo plant with gorgeous purple flowers. I decided to do a little research on it first before I bought it to see what kind of conditions it likes. This is what I came across…

“Arundina graminifolia Bamboo – Clumping terrestrial orchid from Asia growing up to 2m tall. Bee & butterfly attracting lilac & purple terminal flowers in summer & autumn. Full/part sun.”

The flowers on this bamboo are beautiful. I see that it’s a clumper so I am safe there. I’m not into runners as they can totally take over. So I think tomorrow I have a small trip planned. Yay!! This will help with my black bamboo grow project too. Give me some motivation. I love gardening. (:

Creative Moments

What a great day out in the zen garden. I had an awesome weeding and transplanting session. Some transplants are in a little shock… I hope they pop up soon. It’s amazing how the weeds creep up on you. Just have to keep it all under control. I like to go slow with it. I prefer the one section at a time weeding method. Other than that, I fed the plants some plant food. Have to experiment with it at some point.

Here’s a picture I took today on a garden break. It’s amazing how you can find inspiration all around you. You just have to be silent, open your eyes and look around… Peace at last.
